Semana Dominicana en EE.UU. es una misión exclusiva de AMCHAMDR que tiene como propósito afianzar las relaciones comerciales bilaterales, estrechar lazos con la comunidad dominicana en Estados Unidos y gestionar intereses comunes entre ambos paises.

En esta edición, como en años anteriores, buscamos elevar iniciativas y promover decisiones y posiciones acordes con las necesidades de los diversos sectores productivos que integran nuestra membrecía y en torno a una agenda que abarca temas como: Nearshoring & Logística, Estado de Derecho, Política Comercial con EE.UU., Summit of the Americas, Energía, Innovación, Secure Network, Mercado de Capitales, Turismo e Inversión, Innovación, entre otros.

Con una delegación más de 35 participantes, este año celebramos la XXXIII edición de SEMDOM, del 29 de septiembre al 2 de octubre, en las ciudades de Washington D.C. y Nueva York.

The journalist Hope Ceballos came to the united States with the enthusiasm and the heart of work to put on high the dominican flag. In 2014 she was hired as a journalist for Univision 41 and it is in this year, when he arrives with his family to New York from Santo Domingo. Previously remained 10 years as a correspondent for the station from Dominican Republic.

After a year in the united States, in 2015, was nominated in the categories of Breaking News and Spot News in the Emmy awards; in 2016, she also received two nominations of the prominent and prestigious organization. And in 2018 he receives his first oscar after being nominated in two categories at the 61st edition of the Emmys. In that same year he was nominated to the awards Sovereign as a Communicator outstanding abroad. And in the 2019 rising with two statuettes more of the Emmys, due to the Series of the Victims of Trujillo, and in another in the line of education.

At the end of the month of October 2017, the chain she works for him the Only Awards for the coverage in Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria; a distinction which delivery company to outstanding employees of the company during the year.

The aerospace engineer dominican Alec Subero leads in the united States the development of the the first stage of the rocket New Glenn in Blue Origin, project that the company achieved its first successful launch on 16 January. His work focuses on rockets large enough to trade missions, scientific, and government.

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, attended the high school at the Colegio Arroyo Hondo (Santo Domingo). With family support, he moved to EE. UU. in January 1999at the age of 18, to study Aerospace Engineering in Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Florida). His parents are natives of San José de Ocoa.

His career combines experience of workshop and technical leadership. Worked in small companies, and then in Cessna; he later went on to Sierra Nevada, where he participated in his the first project to bring people to the International Space Station. After he was recruited by Virgin Galactic, where he remained ten years and it came to be engineer-in-chief in the development of two ships. Subsequently, he moved to Washington to assume managerial functions in Blue Origin.

In addition to his career in the industry, Subero maintains a clear goal: to encourage the development of a space industry in the Dominican Republicpromoting local capabilities in the design, analysis and manufacturing to integrate into the global chain of the sector.

The executive dominican Cristina Contreras, LMSW, MPA, FABC directs the Hospital Lincoln in The Bronx, part of NYC Health + Hospitalsthe municipal health system largest in the united States. Assumed as CEO of Lincoln in 2024, with the mission of expanding services, empower staff and improve access to quality care for the community of the Bronx.

Prior to his arrival in Lincoln, was CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan (2021-2024) and before executive director of North Central Bronx (2018). With more than two decades of experience in the public health system of the city, its leadership combines operational management, community-based approach and clinical results.

Born in Dominican Republic, Contreras is bachelor of Social Work by Lehman College (CUNY), with a master's degree in Social Work by Fordham University and a masters in Public Administration by Baruch College (CUNY). Throughout his career he has driven prevention programs, health education and closeness with the community, to promote initiatives and job fairs that connect patients, neighbors, and health professionals.
